British born James Nisbet and brit- ozzie Nicola Quilter met in a tent at a rain soaked Glastonbury. After they had recovered from the combined effects of trench foot, hypothermia and mutual hangovers, they wrote their first song –"Love Tourist”. Since then they have written their first Album 'Keys, Wallet ,Phone', which was born out endless late night sessions in Nicola's flat. James & John Miller (drums) have known each other from St. Etienne days so with Jo Holeweger (bass) coming into rehearsals they went out and supported the Fun Loving Criminals.
Since the age of eight Nicola has developed her acting, writing and singing over in her native Australia before moving to the UK .Her theatre work and music have always worked in tandem with each other. Whilst staring as a lead in a production of the 'Crucible”, she also wrote and recorded under the band name of 'Quilter'. A critically acclaimed album 'The Truth about lies' was released at the end of the 2001 and the band toured their way around the UK. She made 'dancing In Water' with French composer O B One in Paris in 2003 James in the mean time had been working as a sideman for a few years waiting to find someone to collaborate with who felt the same about creating a sound and a style that was new. He spent his early days working as a guitarist/engineer in New York at the world famous –Bearsville –studios. On his return to the UK he has write, played and produced for artists as diverse as Rod Stewart, Squeeze, and St. Etienne and many other great British bands often with Johny and Jo on drums and bass respectively.
