There is more than one artist with this name:

1. A mid-60s sunshine pop band.
2. An American rock band formed in 2005 in central Ohio

1. The Ballroom was a mid-60s band led by sunshine pop producer Curt Boettcher. The credited group was a quartet, featuring Sandy Salisbury, Michele O'Malley, and Jim Bell, though the group was embellished by studio musicians.

They were signed to Warner Bros. in 1966, and they recorded an album, which was rejected for release. Some of the material was later re-mixed or re-recorded altogether and included on the Sagittarius album "Present Tense", and some complete tracks made it onto The Millennium's album "Begin", with re-recorded vocals, though the entire album was finally released on the Millennium compilation Magic Time.

Curt Boettcher and Sandy Salisbury would later be part of The Millennium, and Michele O'Malley would release an obscure solo album under her first name in 1969, entitled "Saturn Rings".

2. The Ballroom is a four piece rock band from central Ohio started by Zach Schwartz and Miah Wagner (Now of The Great Transparency) in Mt. Vernon, Ohio while they both attended Mt. Vernon Nazarene University. The Band draws influences from bands ranging from the indie/emo rock bands Taking Back Sunday and Silverstein, to the alternative rock Third Eye Blind, Bush, and Three Days Grace. What was originally an acoustic side project of the Miah's band Consoling Dara became a full rock band in the Spring of 2005 by adding Steve Fleckenstein on Drums and Justin Prouse on Bass (both original members of Consoling Dara). The band recorded there first EP "Left For Dead" in the Summer of 2005 with CR Pendleton of Pendlwood Studio. When Zach relocated to Columbus, OH, Miah started The Great Transparency and Zach picked up Matt Taylor to fill Miah's position and Jameson Frere on Drums. Since then a few lineup changes have occured bringing Jameson's younger brother, Evan, to replace Prouse at bass and is now The Ballroom's full time drummer, with the departure of his brother. With the addition of Jay Ferguson on Bass an Guitar, The Ballroom is working on their new, currently untitled, EP with The Summit Workshop, due out in the Summer 2009. The Ballroom has shared the stage with such acts as California's own Pensive to nationally known The Honorary Title and Sherwood as well as better well known Columbus acts such as Silent Surface and Bullet Jones.
