DIMLIM was a visual kei band formed in 2017 under the DUM Label and disbanded in February 2022. The forming members were vocalist Sho, guitarists Retsu and Ryuya (from Deviloof), bassist Tsubasa and drummer Issei from D.I.D. According to Retsu, "DIM has the meaning of gloomy darkness and LIM is a cog".

DIMLIM made their debut with the EP titled VARIOUS, on June 3, 2017, which was released on their first live performance at Ikebukuro Black Hole. The EP was made available for wider distribution on August 23, 2017, along with a music video for their track Shoucho (初潮). Their next single was Kioku, Konpeki no Hohoemi (記憶、紺碧の微笑み) in October 2017. Shortly after this release, Issei and Tsubasa departed the band in November 2017, leaving DIMLIM to continue with support members. They released THE SILENT SONG in December, and later the single 「」 in January 2018.

In June 2018, bassist Taishi from Pisarro (ピサロ) and drummer Hiroshi officially joined. In celebration of their first anniversary in June 2018, DIMLIM released a double single titled Watashi... (私...) and Boku... (僕...), both meaning “I/me” in Japanese, and soon announced their first full-length album, CHEDOARA, which was released on August 8, 2018. The album release was paired with a series of live shows and festival appearances. Toward the end of 2018, they performed at the Metal Square vol. 4 festival alongside notable acts such as JILUKA, Nocturnal Bloodlust, and Deviloof.

In June 2019, they released the single Rijin (離人), which delved into themes related to Sho’s experiences with dissociative disorder. Shortly afterward, both guitarist Ryuya and bassist Taishi departed the group. Ryuya left due to artistic differences, while Taishi left due to illness. Now down to three members, DIMLIM pressed on with their second full-length album Misc. Although initially set for release in December 2019, it was postponed to January 28, 2020. The album's style took on a less heavy direction, incorporating elements of electronic and experimental rock, marking a departure from the band’s earlier work.

In 2020, DIMLIM released the EP titled Emotions, and announced an international tour, including scheduled performances in Mexico, Brazil, Chile, and Russia. However, the COVID-19 pandemic led to the postponement or cancellation of these dates, halting their plans for expansion outside Japan. Instead of a tour, the band held a digital quarantine concert exclusive to Youtube on January 9, 2021. The concert was held at Shibuya WOMB and was produced by Retsu.

After several years of activity, DIMLIM announced their disbandment in December 2021. The band held its final performance on February 25, 2022, at Shibuya WOMB. They later released their final performance as a live recorded album, along with a compilation album titled DIMLIM.
