1) Geoff Smith, American Musician.

Geoff began his career in the music business as a kid, growing up on the road with his father, also a musician. Geoff studied theatre at Boston Conservatory and started writing and performing in both his own band and in other groups while performing throughout the United States.

Geoff has lived and performed in and around Austin, Texas, the Netherlands and the Caribbean, and has studied at Sir Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute. He currently lives in the US, where he writes, plays and works as a producer.

Geoff is a member of the Podsafe Music Network, where his songs and jingles can be heard on various podcasts. Geoff has also been an Entertainment Director of the Big Bang Piano Bars and has also worked as an engineer and producer at Studio East in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is also a member of a Police tribute band in Chicago.

The album Ones and 0s was distributed via an RSS feed, including bonus material, over the course of a year. Geoff also distributes some of his jingles through a premium RSS feed as optimized iPhone ringtones.


2) Geoff Smith, British composer and performer.

After an early album on the independent UK label Kitchenware Records he signed a recording contract with Sony Classical in the United States. His first Sony album, "15 Wild Decembers", was recorded and produced by Steve Nye in New York; the second "Black Flowers" was recorded at AIR Studios in London. His music was also released on Sony Masterworks, Epic and Unknown Public.

His band performed widely across North America, Asia, Australia and Europe. He also composed much music for television and film. Faber & Faber published his book of interviews with American contemporary composers such as John Cage, Philip Glass, Laurie Anderson, Steve Reich (American Originals) and he wrote a wide range of articles for The Musical Times, The Wire, Contemporary Music Review, Tempo and others.

Geoff is currently Deputy-Vice Chancellor at Falmouth University, Cornwall, England. While the years since 1997 have been passed in education, work on a new album is underway.


3) Geoff Smith, musical performer and composer from Brighton, England.

He was previously a member of the group Attacco Decente.
Smith is considered to be one of the world's leading players of the hammered dulcimer. In performance, he plays three custom-built prototype dulcimers sequentially - diatonic, chromatic and a microtonal model featuring 'fluid tuning', i.e. such that individual notes may be tuned at (by) precise microtonal intervals.
