That Phone Lyrics

You're gonna want me
The minute that you leave me
You're gonna wish you'd stayed in my bed

You're gonna long for
The sound of me opening the door
But I'm just gonna listen to you knock instead
I hear the ringin down a long, long hall
You can keep it up, baby
I ain't taking your call

I'm just gonna lay there
I'm gonna stay there
I ain't pickin up that phone
You've been moving so long
In the wrong direction
It's time for you to be alone
So I ain't picking up that phone

You're gonna wanna call me
You're gonna wanna crawl back home
You'll try to smooth out the situation

You're gonna try to phone me
Whenever you feel lonely
But it's gonna be a one-way
conversation, baby

I hear the ringin down a long, long hall
You can keep it up, baby
I ain't taking your call

I'm just gonna lay there
I'm gonna stay there
I ain't pickin up that phone

You've been moving so long
In the wrong direction
It's time for you to be alone
So I ain't picking up that phone

You'll feel the cold, cold air underneath your clothes
Creeping in from the door I left open, baby
And you can try with all your might to change my mind
But you're just gonna have to keep on hoping

I'm just gonna lay there
I'm gonna stay there
I ain't pickin up that phone

You've been moving so long
In the wrong direction
It's time for you to be alone
So I ain't picking up that phone

Grace Potter & the Nocturnals is an American rock band from Vermont. Formed in 2002 in Waitsfield by drummer Matt Burr, guitarist Scott Tournet, and singer Grace Potter, they began their career as an indie band, self-producing their albums and touring extensively in the jam bands and music festivals circuit, playing as many as 200 gigs in a year. In 2005 they signed for Hollywood Records and have subsequently released albums encompassing rock sub-genres such as blues rock, folk rock, hard rock, and alternative rock. Their third, self-titled album (released in 2010) was a major commercial success, topping the iTunes charts and receiving international attention.

Grace Potter whose dynamic vocal ability has drawn comparisons to legends Bonnie Raitt, Aretha Franklin and Janis Joplin and more recently Sheryl Crow and Joan Osborne. Her unique style behind the Hammond B-3 and piano is also gaining widespread recognition. The original lineup included Scott Tournet (guitar/slide guitar), Matthew Burr (drums/percussion), and Bryan Dondero (upright/electric bass). After Dondero parted ways with the Nocturnals in March 2009, they brought in Catherine Popper (bass) and also added Benny Yurco (rhythm guitar).

They have toured with national acts such as Taj Mahal, Trey Anastasio, Dave Matthews Band, The Black Crowes, Derek Trucks, Gov't Mule and Robert Cray. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
