Lyricist, innovator, trendsetter, business man; put these five words into two and you will come up with: Fresh Caesar. You may have not heard the name, but you have seen his lasting imprint on the game since 2000.

Born Courtney Smith, he is not new to the industry. Court has always been gifted as an artist. But, It would be unreasonable to say that he became skilled at the craft without practice. At the age of thirteen (13) Court was introduced to hip hop by the late Mac & Mac Dre; it was in their legendary studio: Granny’s house where Court gained a true love for hip hop. It was also there that he learned that having an unmistakable presence was necessary, not only in the rap game but in life. By age 18 and after years of hard work, Court was poised to become one of the Bay’s next rising stars. However, “life” knocked him off the music track and he decided to take the entrepreneurial road.

Fast forward to 2004, Court was the brains behind a fast growing clothing brand; YPA. However, Court felt that something was missing. He began working with a close friend of his, Kaz Kyzah of the group The Team, and in 2006 they formed Mogul Media Group, a full service media company that would focus on the production and promotion of up and coming artist. It was during his work behind the scenes and with the encouragement of his business partner that Court’s focus began to shift back to his first love, making music. Caesar’s cameo was in longtime friend and producer E-reill’s compilation project; “Get it.”

He continued to hone the craft of song making and decided to go at the music with an all or nothing mentality. The change from Court, the guy behind the scenes to Caesar, Mogul front-man got full support from his whole camp. Squareboy Entertainment CEO, Jay Knox, joined forces with Mogul to poise Fresh Ceaz to finish what he started, be the next star out of the Bay.
