Based somewhere in Iowa, MPA combines physically modified field recordings of "places where nobody goes", homemade synth hum, damaged processing and recording equipment and similar gibberish to create faded layers of half-songs and soundtracks for basement floor travelers. Begun in 1999, MPA has released material on Musicyourmindwillloveyou, Black Horizons, Sloow Tapes (in collaboration with Number None) and their own vanity label Midwest Death Cult.
