Bio & Discography
My ridiculous musical life has gone from piano to guitar to cheesy teenage cover bands to punk to hardcore to metal to prog to noise to experimentalism to playing the Chapman Stick . . . the winding thread connecting them all being a deep love of improvisation . . .
I'm a multi-instrumentalist and goofy sort of musical experimentalist. I always adhere to DIY ethic, no matter what form of music I'm focusing my attention on. On a more blah-blah level, I've recorded albums with reluctant indie guru Steve Albini, played live with Wisconsin's electronic music pioneers Oneiroid Psychosis, sang, played and toured with Southern noise rockers bert for years, collaborated with countless other artists all over the U.S. and founded The Subversive Workshop Newsletter magazine/home recording label and the Alabama Improv Co-op. All this just barely scratches the surface. I get tired of trying to keep up with it all.
Current projects include the live version of my one-man recording project Gezoleen (an exclusive Gezoleen track also appears on Hydra Head Records' Where Is My Robotic Boot? Compilation alongside Tribes of Neurot, Khanate & Final), making noise with junkists/tribalists Liquid Brick (new recording out this year), Autosymptomatic (intuitive electronic improvisation), Doctor Midnight (completed an album in 28 days for rpmchallenge.com) and extreme improvisation with my friends in Zepubicle (a new album recorded with the amazing drum work of Tatsuya Nakatani is due out later this year on Solponticello Records).

If you'd like full descriptions or sound samples of any of these, please just email me at jeff.mcleod@yourcall.com.
Also, if you'd like to have any of this stuff, I can usually offer a free copy or (at the very least) a dub. The only exceptions to this being releases that are still available on other active labels. In those circumstances, we can work out a trade, a low price or I can send info on how to order from the label. Just write and ask. I'd be happy to get as much music in your hands as I can.
