The Lion the Beast the Beat Lyrics

Steady now, steady now
Don't fear what you can't see
Ready now, ready now
I'll hold on to you, you hold on to me

Ooh

I found the heart of a lion
In the belly of the beast
And I held it in my hand, and I could feel
I could feel, feel the beat

Gas up the easy rider
And head out for Nevada
Can somebody let the beast out, baby

It's time to meet your maker
Make the road your undertaker
Can somebody let the beast out, baby

Can't stop the beat, can't stop the beat
Run, but you can't hide from the heat
Life is a record, playing on repeat
I'm running wild, with the Lion The Beast The Beat

So don't you try to tame the lion
Just to ride on the horizon
Can somebody let the beast out, baby

Yeah, we all hide our desire
And then we feel the beat like fire
Can somebody let the beast out, baby

Oh

Can't stop the beat, can't stop the beat
Run, but you can't hide from the heat
Life is a record, playing on repeat
I'm running wild with The Lion The Beast The Beat

Oooh

Can't stop the beat, can't stop the beat
Run, but you can't hide from the heat
Life is a record, playing on repeat
I'm running wild with The Lion The Beast The Beat

Grace Potter & the Nocturnals is an American rock band from Vermont. Formed in 2002 in Waitsfield by drummer Matt Burr, guitarist Scott Tournet, and singer Grace Potter, they began their career as an indie band, self-producing their albums and touring extensively in the jam bands and music festivals circuit, playing as many as 200 gigs in a year. In 2005 they signed for Hollywood Records and have subsequently released albums encompassing rock sub-genres such as blues rock, folk rock, hard rock, and alternative rock. Their third, self-titled album (released in 2010) was a major commercial success, topping the iTunes charts and receiving international attention.

Grace Potter whose dynamic vocal ability has drawn comparisons to legends Bonnie Raitt, Aretha Franklin and Janis Joplin and more recently Sheryl Crow and Joan Osborne. Her unique style behind the Hammond B-3 and piano is also gaining widespread recognition. The original lineup included Scott Tournet (guitar/slide guitar), Matthew Burr (drums/percussion), and Bryan Dondero (upright/electric bass). After Dondero parted ways with the Nocturnals in March 2009, they brought in Catherine Popper (bass) and also added Benny Yurco (rhythm guitar).

They have toured with national acts such as Taj Mahal, Trey Anastasio, Dave Matthews Band, The Black Crowes, Derek Trucks, Gov't Mule and Robert Cray. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
