He formed Ippudo in 1979 with Masami Tsuchiya, et al. and played keyboards. In 1982 they released "September Love violet" as a campaign song for Kanebo Cosmetics which hit the Oricon charts at # 2. Ippudo broke up in 1984.

After the dissolution Ippudo he worked primarily as a composer and arranger-composer and is responsible for many of the soundtracks to Japanese dramas and anime, including the anime TV series Spiral.
