James Lavino is an American composer, known especially for his choral music and his music for film and television. Since 2002, he has lived in London, England.

Lavino's soundtrack to Alex Karpovsky's 2008 film "Woodpecker" was performed by Lavino, Radiohead's Colin Greenwood, and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah's Lee Sargent & Tyler Sargent.
