Following the recording of his first solo E.P in mid-2017 with producer Brad Hosking, Canadian/Australian songwriter Rory Switzer began seeking out some of the coast’s most sought after musicians (Luke Johnson-Drums, Wil Edgar-Bass, Ondre Davis-Guitar) to form Loose Leaf.

Along with each member of the band, front-man Rory comes from a long list of other musical endeavours, most notably his role as drummer in psych-rock band ‘Yes Sir Noceur’. The combined experience has resulted in an incredibly dynamic live show, and a sound eerily familiar, yet difficult to pigeonhole. You can hear elements of folk, indie-pop and dad-rock throughout the tracks; think Mac Demarco meets Local Natives.

2018 saw the release of two singles from the new outfit, followed by their debut E.P entitled ‘FRAMES’. “It’s the record I’d been wanting to make for far too long…I’m happy I waited.” says Rory when asked about his procrastination in bringing the tracks to the studio. “Most of the songs’ lines and hooks had been haunting my phone and loop pedal for months, even years; it took some time for them to find their meaning and place”.
