The Nigel Purcell Trio are
Nigel Ratcliffe
Andrew Purcell and
Colin the computer!

They (not the computer) have worked together on and off for the last thirty something years.
In 2012 Andrew approached Nigel to record a collection of His instrumental tracks and these were released as the album "An evening with The Nigel Purcell Trio"

In 2013, the Trio recorded tracks originally recorded between July 1982 and October 1983 and this was released as "Not Now"
Also in 2013 the album "As was" was released featuring re-recorded material from 1978 to 1980

The next album "Life is everything that happens inbetween" came out in 2014 (see review below) followed by "A coming together of ages"

2015 saw 2 compilation eps being released respectively in response to feedback from listeners which focused on the quieter side of their eclectic output called "Calm" and Not so Calm"

This was followed by "The Ghosts of Rookery Park" single..

A new album "Future past sounds" was released April 2015 and is a story based album.

All albums, e.ps and singles are now distributed by distrokid and can be found on all major streaming and download sites

Review of "Life is everything that happens inbetween" by Trevor Sizzle

track 1 nice acoustic guitars and melody line, enjoyed ,
track 2 nice usage of childhood icons within the lyrics, country pop feel anther great song Hi ho silver away, enjoyed
track 3 How strange , begins with an instrumental just when you think its coming to a close breaks into song great lyrics and a pleasure to listen to ,
track 4 the versatility shown on this album so far has to be admired, this track The mirror all though short in length is a great lesson in song writing,
track 5 a homage to a cat !! nice sounding vocal and love the sound of that CURE sounding guitar
track 6 this is great song ,production cant be faulted enjoyed,
track 7 starts with nice acoustic guitars and a hello ! and ends with a Goodbye, anther gentle and enjoyable song and great song writing ,
track 8 wow really like this one reminds me of the beach boys , in there sunflower days all Bruce Johnston vocals this is my fave at the moment, this one needs to reach more ears than this up load will give it
track 9 pace moves up slightly I don’t think I was ever beautiful !! HA HA GREAT LEAD BREAK , and nice guitars through out,
track 10 flight 19, another well produced number, reminds me of the Bermuda triangle plane disappearances !! nice story telling,
track 11, title track of this batch of great work carrying with that distinctive vocal style
track 12 great guitar intro vocals right up front , louder or slightly more compressed than what has gone before giving it a pay attention feel , nice instrumental bridge ,
track 13 getting the impression that I am listening to a double album here as the production seems louder than the songs before track 11, still the amazing quality enjoying
track 14 synth intro giving a more 80s- 90s feel nice arrangement
track 15 showing great versatility this track stars with a more folksy feel and some really nice lead guitar work great atmosphere conjured up here great harmony’s to ward the end
track 16 another great track showing great versatility
track 17 great story telling with in a song,as with track 18 which brings this great batch of songs to a close, over all this would grace any body’s album collection with a very professional approach
and production that most would be pleased with if MT users read this while listening to the first track and thinking that it is the flavour of the ongoing 17 tracks then for get it this is very strong volume of work and needs to be listened to in its entirety to gain the full strength of the musicians and song writers that are The Nigel Purcell Trio thumbs up great volume of work as you can probably tell work on the next sizzle video came to a stand still while listening and commenting, believe in love trevor sizzle -
