Osvaldo Burucua was born in buenos aires in 1960.
he has studied guitar with tomas pomilio and jose luis merlin, and harmony and composition with manolo juarez.

He has been working professionally since 1977. his guitar has accompanied musicians such as Oscar Cardozo Ocampo, Jaime Torres, Adriana Varela, Luis Salinas, Melania Perez, Silvia Iriondo, Chavela Vargas, Yamila Cafrune, Claudio Sosa, Alejandro Dolina, grupo vocal argentino, not only on stage or recordings, but also on television and radio performances.

As a solo guitarist, he has performed since 1986, always playing the main composers of our popular music, as well as his own compositions on argentinian and latin american rhythms.

He has been a teacher of folklore guitar at the "escuela popular de musica de avellaneda", since its beginnings in 1986, together with other well-known professionals.

In 1997 he independently edits his first cd, named "paisaje", with compositions of his own and others´. this work has been awarded a special mention by the "tribuna de musica argentina", organized by the unesco musical council (cim). he has often taken part in the famous international festival "guitarras del mundo". he also represents argentina in festivals in peru (icpna), colombia (uis - bucaramanga), and chile (inst. goethe). he has edited the cd "del barroco a tierra adentro" together with the guitarist monika hiertz.

In 2002 he edits his third cd "el cielo" (pai records), and a method of argentinian folkloric rhythms, with book and cd (ellisound publishers) together with the guitarist Raul Peña.
