Trying to Drive (Featuring Zac Brown) Lyrics

Aslyn:
He might be right
I'm out of luck when I'm out of feist and out of touch
With this little smile I call my own
Don't feel like home anymore.

Zac brown:
But you make the most of what it's not
Till a little love feels like a lot
And I blame you and you blame me
And this little war evens everything in time.

Chorus:
Aslyn:
But you're not always right.
Zac brown:
I'm not always wrong.
Aslyn:
It's not like I don't try.
Both:
This is where we belong.
One way, everythings gonna be away.
Aslyn:
But darlin', I'm on your side.
Both:
Cause it's the one wheel, four hands, two hearts trying to understand
How we gonna to get there?
We're both trying to drive.

Zac Brown:
No one can do what you do,
You know I'm not right if I'm not right with you.
And I'll save you if you save me
And I'll be the one to lay it all out on the line.

Chorus.

Aslyn:
I can feel it under my seat.
You're on the sideline of my life.
Watch the rain fall to the ground.
To the beat of the same old fight.

Zac Brown:
And every song is brewing this war
And I find myself

Both:
In the mix of it, give a little bit
We're gonna fly, gonna fly, fly.

Aslyn:
One way, everythings gonna be away
But darlin' I'm on your side.

Zac Brown:
Darlin' I'm on your side.

Both:
Cause it's the one wheel, four hands, two hearts trying to understand
How we gonna to get there?
One way, everythings gonna be away

Aslyn:
But darlin' I'm on your side.

Both:
Cause it's the one wheel, four hands, two hearts trying to understand
How we gonna to get there?
We're both trying to drive. (x5)

Aslyn Mitchell (b. 1980) is an American singer and songwriter originally from Gainesville, Florida. She currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. She has toured with Ryan Cabrera, Ari Hest, The Click Five, Chris Isaak, and Better than Ezra. Her debut album appeared on the Capitol Records label, produced by Guy Chambers (Kylie Minogue, Delta Goodrem) and Eric Valentine.

In 2005, she released her debut album titled Lemon Love. The name Lemon Love is due to the fact that every car she has owned turned out to break down, or in other words, turned out to be a "lemon"; she spent more on repairing them than they were actually worth. The album Lemon Love reached number #36 on the Top Heatseeker charts and it's single Be the Girl reached #26.

In January 2008, Aslyn released an EP entitled The Grand Garden EP. The EP features 28 songs, most of which were recorded between Lemon Love and Wherever the Dandelion Falls. It is divided up into 4 parts, each one having 7 different songs.

In January 2009, Aslyn's second full length album, The Dandelion Sessions was released under Lemonade Records. The 13 song collection includes some old fan favorites that have been played at live concerts for a couple of years now, such as "Your Best Thing", "The Way It Goes", and "Making Her Right". Another fan favorite recorded with Zac Brown, "Trying to Drive" was also included on the album. She is now managed by J.Romo Music Management. Read more on Last.fm.
