1. Dish is an indie post-rock trio from Asheville, North Carolina. The band consist of vocalist/guitarist Nate Marshall, guitarist/bassist Clayton Gibb and drummer Chris Simmons. They released the album Honeycomb in June 2022 and the album This House Has Legs in August 2023.
2. Dish was an indie rock duo formed by brothers Roberto and Nathaniel Aguilar, known for their unconventional music and creative use of found percussion. Raised in Damascus, Maryland, the brothers grew up playing music together, blending Roberto's versatile vocals and guitar work with Nathaniel's unique percussion style, which utilized objects like sheet metal, hubcaps, and pots and pans.
Their debut EP, Los Angeles, was recorded in a rapid three-day session in Los Angeles with producers Jay Bellerose and Jen Condos and engineered by Ryan Freeland. Released in the mid-2000s, the EP was described as an "impressionist dreamscape" and helped establish the duo's reputation for experimental, genre-defying music.
In 2009, Dish released their full-length album, Ma Raison De Vivre Ton Amour (Your Love is My Reason to Live). The album, featuring 16 tracks, allowed the duo to explore various musical styles, from upbeat, polyrhythmic percussion segments to more somber and reflective songs. Collaborating with guest musicians and incorporating instruments like the viola, upright bass, and mandolin, the album was compared to the work of bands like Margot and the Nuclear So and So's and described as "raw, organic, strong, dark, and beautiful." Despite the critical success of Ma Raison De Vivre Ton Amour, it remains unclear what became of the band after the album's release in 2009.
