In a world full of cheap, disposable, here-today-gone-tomorrow “talent” it’s nice to know that some things, like Stonehenge, taxation and death, remain a constant in our lives.

And so to Headcount, Oxford based noisy sorts.

Formed in 1999 by Rob Moss (guitars & vocals), Stef Hale (drums) and Rob Jeffrey (bass) Headcount have a belligerent but melodic sensibility, being referred to as “hell bound pig-fucking devil dogs” and sounding like “Adam and the Ants being sodomised by Therapy?”. That should give you an idea. Is it punk? Is it metal? Is it rock? All mere labels don’t you know.

Talking of Ants, the Headcount of today features none other than Marco Pirroni, the Ivor Novello winning co-writer and guitarist of Adam and the Ants/Sinead O’Connor/Wolfmen fame guesting his trademark guitar sound to the band's sonic platter.
