Originally known for her lead vocalist role in Mostly Autumn from 1997 to 2010, Heather Findlay is also one half of Odin Dragonfly and personified the emotion 'love' on Ayreon's Human Equation album.

Heather left Mostly Autumn in 2010 to embark upon a solo career. In her official statement on the Mostly Autumn website, she announced that she was working on what will be a full band project. In a blog posting in June she stated that because of the diversity of material she was working on, the project would take the form of a series of EPs, most likely with different musicians, rather than try to shoehorn everything onto one album.

The first of these solo release is a 5 track EP titled "The Phoenix Suite", produced by Chris Johnson, and featuring guitarist Dave Kilminster, best known for his work with Roger Waters, bassist Steve Vantsis, best known for his work with Fish, and Alex Cromarty on drums. Previously described it as "dark, quirky, bohemian, rocky and very vibey", it had a retail release date of 25th April 2011, although pre-orders from her own website shipped before that date. Pre-orders for a limited edition of 100 copies with CD sleeves made from portions of Heather's original painting for CD artwork sold out in minutes.

Heather has also been working on a number of collaborations including a song on Mostly Autumn's Liam Davison's solo album A Treasure of Well-Set Jewels.

Heather has returned to the live circuit in 2011, mostly playing as a acoustic duo with Chris Johnson, including a very successful tour supporting Touchstone. She made her début with a full five-piece electric band that featured on The Phoenix Suite at the Cambridge Rock Festival in 2011. A five-date full band tour is scheduled for November 2011

Heather's second release is Live at the Café 68, a recording of an acoustic set with Chris Johnson, due for release in November 2011. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
