Born in Jeremie, Haiti, and attending school in Port-au-Prince, Wanito has brought his soulful sticky beats and rhythms combined with powerful lyrics about his home country to the world stage. After winning the Haiti Sings contest and recording his debut album with the non-profit Fair Trade Music label, PeaceTones, Wanito's debut album, Biografi Mwen, quickly became one of the hottest commodities in Haiti. With hits like Gad'on Rev, On Jou la Jou, and Blokus, Wanito has appealed to "gangsters and grannies alike."
