MC SAS got involved with the Drum & Bass scene from the early age of 15 travelling the country as a raver and witnessed some legendary events like One Nation and Roast and many more around the uk.

Already following all types of music from as long as he chooses to remember and having his first keyboard from the age of 6 Curtis Holligan aka SAS was always going to devote his life to music, it was just a matter of what form he would choose.

His digital journey started at the age of 11 in Toxteth, Liverpool listening to his local radio station TCR, he was put on to the emerging sound of Acid House which was given to him by his new friend at his secondary school.

Listening to everything from Dance hall, Hip hop, Rnb, Rock, Acid, Funk, House and many more fueled his thirst to produce and perform and gave SAS his unique and varied style you can hear in his tracks.

He first met Futurebound back in 1995 at a record shop known as 3beat records where he picked up his first vinyl Omnio Trio EP from Futurebound who worked at the shop at the time.

He started off as a dj at first but was later inspired by his travels to London and most of all the legendary Stevie Hyper D (RIP)

After living in London on and off with family on and off he returned to Liverpool in 1997 to find a new night Blade Runners ready to launch the first Jungle and Drum and Bass night at La bateau. Here Kemistry (rip) and Storm were performing, soon to be SAS got in contact with the promoters and secured his first ever gig with the legendary Metal Headz duo.

After a great start as an MC and locking down residencies at all of the Liverpool nights and regular nights in Manchester Metropolis. He got his first break in Austria where he also took on another 3 residencies and many bookings in Europe after releasing collective tracks on the newly formed Sophonic Records based in Liverpool under a group name M.A.S.S .

The track which gained the attention of Grooverider and then played on Radio 1 before the group split in 2000.

2011 seen him at Maida Vale and Abbey Road studios for a track called ”One of Those Days” which was something very different ans seen him switch his flow to 120 bpm. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
