Tai Allen, has crafted singing & poetry into a signature approach reminiscent of Gil-Scot Heron — yet uniquely his own. In 2010, Allen’s album “Easy Readin’” was awarded Album of The Year by the National Poetry Awards.

Creative is the best adjective/noun to define Allen. Utilizing different creative mediums is considered a pathway to a tone to the ViceLounge production team. Writing has always been the cornerstone of their creativity.

Allen states, “Music is my second lover. She, like so many others, seduced me at a tender age. I cannot remember which classic tune changed my life; I think it was an orgy of acts and songs.” ViceLounge has been influenced by many including Norman Connors, Gil-Scot Heron, Art of Noise, Portishead, Public Enemy, Quincy Jones and Django Rhinehart.
