When the mad flyentist mixed realist perspective with satirical wit, a smoke-puff bore Poach Stevens. Every MC was brought screaming and gooey into hard luck beginnings, it's the narration that sets them apart. Poach is heavy struggle funneled through the wit and comedic content of a man driven by "fuck-it" mantras. Poking fun at his plight, Stevens is not bogged and muddled by over consciousness or forced humor as so many other niche-hunters, its genuine chuckle-mongering from a story-teller extraordinaire. Tight production homies, and credits for opening RZA, Ghostface, De La Soul, The Handsome Boy Modeling School and others, don't feel bad for digging him, you're not alone. ~ Ryan E.
