Pudditorium(Jungbum Kim) has a style of music that seamlessly reflects his unique personality. His music is described as exotic, refined and stimulating. Subsequent to obtaining his bachelor’s degree from Seo-gang University in Business Administration, Jungbum attended the Professional Music program at Berklee College of Music on a scholarship. He is presently pursuing his master’s degree in Jazz Studies at New York University. Jungbum formerly taught music at Korea National University of Arts’ School of Dance and served as an editorial writer to “Screen” film magazine.
In 1999, he earned an award from the 11th Yoo Jaeha Music Competition for Improvisation 2. Jungbum was the co-producer for Yiruma’s 5th album—h.i.s. monologue (2006) and worked in collaboration with Lucid Fall’s 3rd album—Night at the Border (2007). He was also the leader of the contemporary quintet, ‘Pudding’. The band built a large number of fans through their albums—If I could meet again (2003) and Pesadelo (2005). In addition to these accomplishments, he has worked on soundtracks for films. ‘Maldive’ from the quintet’s album, If I could meet again, was adopted for use in Lee Yoonki’s The Charming Girl (2005). In the same year, Jungbum took on the role of music director for Lee Yoonki’s Love Talk and, in the following year, for Ad-lib Night. In 2006, he acted as the composer and arranger for Ahn Sanghoon’s Arang and in 2008, he worked with Lee Yoonki once again as the music director for My Dear Enemy.
His musical artistry is also demonstrated through the diversity of his works. Jungbum was favorably noticed in the film industry and was invited to the New York Tribeca Film Festival and San Francisco International Film Festival. He has been also nominated for multiple awards (the 2006, 2008, 2010 Korean Music Awards and 2008 Korean Film Awards). He is currently a recording artist of Stomp Music and is focusing on a solo project titled ‘Pudditorium’ in which he will continue experimenting with new and exotic concepts. Read more on Last.fm.
