A singer-songwriter in the purest sense, Alice has been writing and performing since age 12, cultivating her skills as a guitarist and lyricist over a decade of devotion to folk music. Inspired by the people, places, and experiences that shape her own life, Alice strives to write lyrics that are honest confessions of love and memory. As a child she absorbed the simple beauty of traditional folk songs as sung by Joan Baez and others, and later came to draw on the influences of such artists as Jackson Browne, Bob Dylan, Tracy Chapman, and Joni Mitchell. Although she primarily performs original songs, she is known to play a variety of covers by these beloved musicians.

In May of 2009, Alice released her first studio album, a self-titled collection of six original songs. Her performances have been varied in recent years, including the Stowe Farmers’ Market in Stowe, Vermont, the Yellow Sofa Coffee Shop in Northampton, Massachusetts, and the Red Curtain Music Series in Portland, Maine. She frequents the open mics of the Greater Boston Area and the Pioneer Valley, and has played repeatedly at Smith College, including as the opener for local musician Heather Maloney. Most recently, Alice took on foreign audiences in Córdoba, Spain, where she lived from February-May of 2012. There she performed at local bars such as Automático and el Mundano. Her song “Change” has been featured in the promotional video for the spring campaign of Barcelona-based shoe designer Natalio Martín. Before and after her upcoming 2013 graduation from Smith College, she will continue to pursue a career in music, and intends to release her second album in late 2012. Read more on Last.fm.
