Jazz vocalist/pianist Sharman Duran is based in her hometown of San Francisco, California, though she has performed in Europe and Asia. Her original compositions presented on "Future Echo" as well as cuts on the preceding CD "Quintessential" are fresh both in regard to harmony and subject matter, with a plain spoken approach to lyrics. Her standards are always delivered with a twist, and she swings. She counts among her influences such diverse artists as Irene Kral, Stevie Wonder, Lucy Reed, Chaka Khan, George Duke and Nancy Wilson, plus pianists Bill Evans and Chick Corea. Read more on Last.fm.
