Maxwell Scott Renner (also known as Value Select) is an American musician, comedian, and occasionally, both. He is also the king of Planet Select, the inventor of Mirth Pop, creator of the hit series' 'I wake up Sad' and 'Shanghai Ballers'.

Little is known of the background of this enigmatic gentleman, in fact, some claim he doesn't have a background at all, and instead formed from the infinite abyss of time and space at some point in 2017. However, it is plausible that does not have a life outside of his YouTube channel, because he solely exists inside the internet and was the result of some great deity, sick of the downwards spiral online content had gone down, created him inside the internet, in order to act as an online messiah, gifting the world with the perfection it had been lacking. However, Mr Select has chosen not to comment on these claims, because they're true.

However, Select has also claimed that he comes from a world known as Planet Select, and is the rightful king. However, at a young age his father was killed by Steven Spielberg and Select was exiled. In the year 2019, Spielberg vowed to delete the channel, unless it reached 1 million subscribers by Yule. This didn't occur, however, in an act of pure bravery, he managed to convince Spielberg (using the promise of the coming of a greater threat) to strive for creativity, keep the channel alive, and start making good movies again, the latter of which he has yet to act on.


Renner is an esteemed multi-instrumentalist and songwriter as well as an extremely handsome enigma, known for his both deeply surreal and highly relatable lyrics, with a focus on strong, powerful hooks.
