BIOGRAPHY
David Stükenberg, usually referred to only by his bizarre-sounding, German surname (pronounced "stew-ken-burg"), is an aberrant songwriter/multi-instrumentalist. Stükenberg was born the son of nomad missionaries and spent his childhood traveling according to the demands of his parents' work, which he describes as "the type of work that doesn't steal land, end lives, and dictate self-righteousness, but instead helps those in need the way the Bible would actually intend." Due to his dozen plus schools, combined with continual relocating, David gravitated towards the one consistent friend he had: music.

By age eighteen, Stükenberg had turned down various music scholarships in exchange for a number of music-related contracts in Nashville, TN, which he recalls, "sounded a lot cooler at the time." A few years later, he returned to Wisconsin to focus on writing his own music, and in early 2010 released The Silo Project. The project was recorded entirely in an abandoned silo that David updated with electricity and acoustic paneling improvements. Songs like Towers and Concussions in Heaven show David maturing into a songwriter of songwriters.

After The Silo Project came the decidedly darker concept album Novella. Each song a crafted drama, David portrays humanities weaknesses and strengths in every single song.

And now, most recently, David has blessed the year 2020 with two of the best projects of the year in the Millsounds EP, an exercise in recording technique and song form along with the DOUBLE PLUS PANIC album. DOUBLE PLUS PANIC is a concept album based on Davids thoughts on love, life, Eric Arthur Blair's novels and the American political system. It's decidedly off-kilter computer-generated tracks portray a world burning itself down, whereas songs like Keep Us Close pray for everything to turn out okay in the end. The work is far from done, but the Stük lives on. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
