It got rollin' not so long ago. In 2001 we were on a school expedition when someone gave me a double CD with a weird logo on it. "It's Bad Company's Logo". Who the hell is Bad Company? I was kinda hung up on "Mindgames" thought, the tune gave my shivers down my spine. It was about one of the first times I heard this thing called Drum&Bass. It was nice to hear something else than the stuff I was used to hear. It was ruff, hard and most of all, fast as hell. As time flew by, the BC CD was more & more in my CD-Player. Later on I discovered the "Aftermath: Essential Rewindz" compilation and the whole Renegade Hardware genre. It didn't take much time for me to realize I was into the rougher, techy DnB.
In 2003, a dutch friend of mine send me the Project Human CD by Dieselboy. Well this is where it eventually all started. I was fascinated by the fact how the hell DSL could mix Reborn (Weapon Remix) with Mindgames, the tune I was obsessed with so long. There was so much going on, high hats & basses all over the place, so I tried to figure out how people mix this.
Later that year I started to mess around with Traktor DJ on PC, mixin' tunes like Around the World & The Music Sounds Better With you.
It didn't take me that long to take the step to Drum&Bass and leave the whole dance genre behind me.
In 2004 I bought my first mixer, and a few months later I bought 2 technics and Dom&Roland's "Chronology" LP.
Eventually that's how it all started. The rest is, indeed, history. At this moment, my style is pretty much the same as what I heard from the very beginning. I try to keep it oldschool, mixed with some new bits and everything else I really like.
