Songwriter Zoe Mulford answers these questions and tackles the big eternal themes — love, death, food, laundry, etc. — with humor, lyricism, and an honesty that charms diverse audiences.

Backing her clear vocals with guitar or banjo, she gives each story its appropriate musical setting, creating an eclectic mix that may bring to mind Joni Mitchell, Christine Lavin, and Gillian Welch in the course of a single set.

Zoe currently lives near Washington, DC, and counts Durham, NC, Boston, MA, and Swarthmore, PA among her former hometowns. She has played at house concerts, coffeehouses, and folk venues including the Washington Folk Festival, the Six String Cafe, and the Institute of Musical Traditions.

She has shared the stage with local and touring performers including Tom Paxton, Karen Mal, Jonathan Byrd, Joe Hickerson, Pat Wictor, Carla Ulbrich, Nick Annis and Dan Hart.
