Codice EGO is the name we have chosen to describe our music. The one that we have been playing and producing together since December 2016 in the shadow of the Castello di Rivoli, a stone's throw from Turin, home to one of the best-known contemporary art museums in Italy, or rather, in Europe. For us, a symbol, the bridge between past and future to be crossed to give shape to the language that represents us.
From Nick Hornby to Hermann Hesse, from David Sylvian to the Cure, Massive Attack, Portishead, Brian Eno, Chet Baker, Pat Metheny, Dead Can Dance, Lucio Dalla (yes, he, one of the masters of Italian song), without forgetting the visceral love for comics (Dylan Dog, of course, but also Zagor, Alan Ford, the works of Patience) the horror films of the great masters of all time (Argento, Romero, Craven, Bava, Carpenter) and the works of timeless art of directors such as Leone, Tarantino, Scorsese, Lynch, Kubrick, Allen, Hitchcook.
Codice EGO was born from pure and profound veneration for everything that has transmitted us strong and vivid emotions throughout our existence. Like a Bignami: the music we play is the synthesis of our love for beauty in all its forms. If looking at a painting by Dalì, Picasso, Mirò or Chagall you feel drawn into a parallel world, full of suggestions and more or less evident, more or less obvious references, we can share, if you like, a piece of the road together. For the pleasure of travel. For the pleasure of company.
