There are three bands by this name:

1) A Norwegian jazz band, with compositions ranging from catchy melodies through composed ”chamber music” to open sketches.

BOL is a musical meeting between four improvising musicians with experience and influences from a lot of different settings; Tone Åse has as a long time background as member of the modern a capella group Kvitretten which explored both "bel-canto", voice-experimentation and free improvisation not at least the fields in between. She is also experimenting with electronic effects on her voice and use live sampling/loops.

Ståle Storløkken has experimented with sounds and soundscapes mainly by use of "synthesizers from the past" as his trademark, in settings as the band Supersilent, Audun Kleive's BIT, and Terje Rypdal's Skywards. As a composer, he is often writing "improvised chamber music"; for BOL and string quartet he composed ”Interference harmony”, presented at the Trondheim Chamber Music Festival 2003. To the Trondheim Jazzfestival 2002 he wrote ”Four Short Stories” for the Trondheim Symphonic Orchestra.

Tor Haugerud has since the early 90's been developing his strong expression and trying out different kinds of "set-ups" through among others working with the "power-ethno"-group Transjoik, the free jazzgroup Gibrish, and lately his surrealistic music-performance-project misterYtor.

2) BOL is the industrial project of Basham on vocals and Rob Robinson (of Hate Dept., Kevorkian Death Cycle, and Sergeant Sawtooth) providing instrumentation.

Despite recording a variety of tracks, the short-lived band released only one album, entitled Hate Breeds Hate on the now-defunct Gonzo Records! (Though a variety of unreleased tracks were put out on print-on-demand CD's through mp3.com before it closed down, entitled Compilation, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. The second volume consisted of extremely old synthpop tracks and the first volume was more recent unreleased material and demos.)

3) A tongue-in-cheek grindcore band from Melbourne, Australia. Their material ranges from a ridiculous song about Christmas (with an intoxicated Santa Claus screaming in the background) to a 300bpm assault entitled 'Anally Aborted Fetus' with blasts so fast they don't even sound like drums.

4) South Korean rapper BoL (full name Bol Hyelwi Hana Luah). Known for her viral videos and her appearance (also known as "South Korea Sexy Girl"). She loves American "white pulang men".
