qumcl is an independent Belarusian musician and producer creating music across lo-fi, experimental electronics, indie rock, ambient, and IDM. His real name is Egor Gennadievich Gerasenko. He was born in 2003 in Pyt-Yakh and is currently based in Surgut, Russia.

Formerly known as Madcap Laughs, he adopted the name qumcl in early 2024, merging his previous aliases into a new artistic identity. His music blends emotional introspection with eclectic genre experiments, drawing inspiration from personal experience, mythology, games, literature, and analog equipment.

Notable releases include Egyptology, vqopb, Olympians, and the double concept album I AM ABSOLUTELY SURE THERE ARE NO CORPSES IN OUR KITCHEN.

qumcl’s sound is defined by VHS texture, lo-fi aesthetics, and an often ritual-like ambient atmosphere.
