Traumfanger is a band based on the foundation of three music types, industrial German, gothic rock, and melodic Scandinavian metal. Some of the main band influences touch on each one of these foundations. German industrial bands like Rammstein and Eisbrecher have sharp heavy rhythms on guitars that are accompanied by a number of synthesizers and dark bass tracks. Bands like Korn Static X and The Birthday Massacre influence them with their American gothic sounds, very similar to the German industrial. The Scandinavian melodic bands like In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, and Amon Amarth help them to bring Viking heritage into the lyrics along with some of the most unique and original keyboard sounds.
