Marianne Rosenberg (born March 10, 1955, in West Berlin) is a German pop and schlager singer as well as a songwriter. She gained fame in the 1970s with hits like Mr. Paul McCartney, Er gehört zu mir, Lieder der Nacht, and Marleen. Rosenberg was born into an artistic family in Berlin and had a notable relationship with Ilja Richter in the late 1970s. She has a son, Max (born 1993), who is also a musician.

Rosenberg's father, Otto Rosenberg, was a Sinto and a survivor of the Porajmos, the genocide of the European Roma and Sinti during WWII. Marianne began her career at age 14 by winning a talent competition and found early success with singles like Mr. Paul McCartney (1970) and other chart hits throughout the early 1970s. In the mid-70s, her producer introduced a more modern "Philly sound" to her music, leading to major hits like Er gehört zu mir and Ich bin wie du, making her one of the top schlager singers of the decade.

She participated in the Eurovision Song Contest's German national selections multiple times but never made it to the main contest. Rosenberg later shifted her image and music style in the 1980s, moving away from schlager and embracing New German Wave influences. She collaborated with musicians like Rio Reiser and Wolf Maahn and became involved in queer rights advocacy.

In the late 1980s and 1990s, remixes of her hits rekindled interest in her music, and she released several successful albums. Throughout the 2000s and beyond, Rosenberg continued to release albums, including Für immer wie heute (2004), Luna (1998), and I'm a Woman (2008). Her work also included jazz and chanson performances. She has contributed to soundtracks, participated in TV shows, and written an autobiography, Kokolores (2006).

In 2020, she celebrated her 50th anniversary on stage by releasing her 20th album Im Namen der Liebe, which reached number 1 in the German album charts. Her follow-up album Diva (2022) also achieved commercial success. In 2023, she participated in The Masked Singer and released her 22nd studio album, Bunter Planet, in 2024, which entered the top 10 of the German charts. Read more on Last.fm.
