Volkspeler is the brain child of Johan Jack Smith of Bloemfontein, South Africa. It originated from poems that have been changed to songs and then is composed. The lyrics are the core of the project and play an integral role in the music.

Volkspeler is a bizarre fusion of alternative, post-rock, electro and what sounds like tremendously powerful lyrics that characterize a sound which is unusually interesting.
