The classical guitarist Vicente Coves was born in Jaén in 1982. After completing his academic studies, obtaining the highest qualifications, he studied from 1997 with the legendary Pepe Romero. He has toured Italy, Mexico, Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Korea, and elsewhere, as a soloist with orchestras in some of the most important auditoria throughout the world, including the Great Tchaikovsky Hall (Moscow), Teatro Colón (Buenos Aires), the National Auditorium of Music of Madrid, the Auditorium of Zaragoza, Cueva de Nerja (Spain), Teatro Verdi (Florence), Three Cultures Auditorium Expo-Zaragoza 2008 and the Teatro Lope de Vega (Seville) among others.

He has appeared as a soloist with the Orquesta Filarmónica de Buenos Aires, the Moscow Youth Philharmonic, the Qatar Philharmonic, Orchestra della Toscana, the RTVE Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid, Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, Orquesta de Córdoba and the Orquesta Nacional de Ecuador, among others. He has collaborated with conductors including Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Isaac Karabtchevsky, Enrique Diemecke, Manuel Hernández-Silva, Andrea Vela, Manuel Coves, Andreas S. Weiser and Adrian Leaper, as well as with Pepe Romero, Horacio Ferrer and Enrique Morente.

Coves belongs to the Versus Ensemble, with which he recorded for Naxos Company Piazzolla’s Suite María de Buenos Aires and Lorenzo Palomo’s Sinfonía a Granada, for soprano guitar and orchestra, composed for Vicente Coves and María Bayo. He has given various master-classes, including as an assistant to Pepe Romero. In 2008 he was awarded the Rubinstein Medal by the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory.
