Julien Paul, better known by his stage name J. Lye, is a 19 year old rapper residing in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and currently attending Boston University. He started writing songs at the age of 13 and began recording at the age of 15. For the past 4 years, he has been releasing a slew of new material, trying to share his music with the masses. J. Lye began his music career under the mentoring of Boston based rapper Kabir Sen, and since then has used the knowledge acquired by Sen in order to branch out on his own career path. In the summer of 2009, he released his first mixtape "Before The World Was Mine" which received a great response, as well as spawning the popular songs "Lurpz" & "Tears Do Fall". As of now, he is focusing on his new project "Compete Until Success". The first single off this mixtape is entitled "She's Dangerous" and has been gaining popularity over the past couple of months. Music is J. Lye's one and only passion, and he is working towards one day acquiring a record deal, in order to share his artistry with the world, and anyone else who wants to listen.
