Jan de Wet ( ​​Harrismith , 3 February 1950 -) is a South African singer who mostly sings Christian and spiritual songs.

He made his first sound recording as a singing and performing artist in 1967 and while he was a teacher and minister he was still actively involved in the music industry. Over the years he has released more than 60 music albums (records, cassettes, CDs, videos, DVDs), some with other artists or compilation albums, including Dana Winner , Gé Korsten , Coenie de Villiers , Rina Hugo , Jak de Priester , Sonja Herholdt , Carike Keuzenkamp . Many of his albums have achieved gold or platinum status. He is currently under contract with Sony Music and also involved in the singing group "Manne wat Glo" which performs locally as well as internationally.

He was the presenter of radio and TV programs (Die Hemele Roem -Radio Orion and Soeklig on SABC2 ). Some of his spiritual messages are regularly broadcast on RSG and Radio Kansel.

In 1975 and 1976, he received two Sarie awards (SA Recording Industry Award - nowadays the SAMA ) for his compositions 'I long for you' and 'Sonder jou'. His album Via Dolorosa won a SAMA for the best Gospel production of the year. Also wins a number of Lier awards and is honored by the ATKV with a certificate for his contribution to Gospel music in SA. Received a Huisgenoot Spectacle and a Gospel Spectacle Award (Radio Tygerberg) for his work as a gospel artist.
