The Green Fields of America is an American Irish band that performs exclusively traditional Irish music as it is played in America. They keep the Irish immigrant tradition alive, with some of their tunes learnt by ear from traditional musicians of Irish origin.
The Green Fields of America's music is an example of genuine traditional Irish music performed on traditional intruments like fiddle, accordion and whistle. The line-up hasn't been very stable, but anyway most of the band members hold All-Ireland titles for their respective instruments.
