Originally from Massachusetts and currently based in New York City, Billy Simons trades in a modern pop amalgam of songcraft, humor and soul (and occasional beatboxing). His high-energy solo acoustic shows in New York's clubs and bars have drawn a devoted regular following, leading to appearances at larger venues, opening for the likes of (frequent Dave Matthews collaborator) Tim Reynolds and Pure Prairie League. Most recently, he has filled out the low-end with a bassist and drummer, dubbing this incarnation the Billy Simons Trio.

Having previously recorded a self-titled, five-song EP, in late 2007 he released his debut full-length album, The Joker's Hand, sporting a musical eclecticism and versatility in 11 tracks that span genres from pop to rock and country to digital.
