In 1990, brothers Evgueni and Sacha Galperine relocated to France, from their native Russia, to complete the classical music training they’d begun in Moscow

Soon after arriving in Paris, Evgueni was drawn to composing film scores while still studying symphonic composition and electro-acoustic music at the National Conservatory (CNSM) in Paris. Sacha turned to rock and electronic music after receiving a first prize for violin performance at the Conservatory of Versailles.

For several years, Evgueni and Sacha have pooled their respective talents and experience to create music for cinema. Their exceptionally broad musical palette, knowledge of cinema and distinctive sound, forged by a unique fraternal bond, has rapidly won the duo the notice of directors from diverse origins and genres.

Whether working on independent films—over a dozen in Europe and Asia— including: The Past by Asghar Farhadi (official selection at Cannes FF), Le Dernier coup de Marteau by Alix Delaporte (official selection at the Venice IFF), The Invader by Nicolas Provost (Best Music award at Ghent Film Festival), Lan by Jiang Wenli (Audience Award at the Busan Festival), or composing for more mass market films like The Family by Luc Besson, Nine Lives by Barry Sonnenfeld, additional music for The Hunger Games by Garry Ross and Split by Night Shyamalan and the score for La Famille Bélier by Eric Lartigau (one of the most successful French movies in recent years), Evgueni and Sacha are equally at ease and focused on storytelling.

2017 has seen the duo writing the score of Loveless by the acclaimed russian director Andreï Zvyagintsev (Cannes official selection), and the latest HBO film by Barry Levinson, The Wizard of Lies, starring Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer.
