Mert Özel is a Turkish-American guitarist, singer-songwriter.
Born in Izmir, Turkey on St.Patrick's day in 1980.
His musical inspirations were Guns N' Roses, Bon Jovi, U2, Pearl Jam, The Tea Party, Creed, Gipsy Kings, Chris Rea and Turkish musicians such as Ege, Teoman, Yasar, Tanju Okan.
His musical style can vary from Mediterranean pop to Folk Americana but he names his style a mixture of Orient and Latin sounds (Orientin).
He made his First Demo album 'Okyanuslar' in 2007 recorded in Izmir & Istanbul Turkey.
He became popular in Turkey with his song 'Pul' in 2008. Performed several times on TV and National radio station TRT Fm.
He composed a Club song 'Hush' in 2009 and is his only sold song on iTunes.
He immigrated to USA in 2012 and since then he performs in guitar legend Carlos Santana's Restaurants in the San Francisco east bay area.
He speaks Turkish, English, German, Spanish, French, Italian & Azerbaijani.
