US quartet COLLECTING SPACE started out as the solo vehicle of Kaleb Burkhart (vocals, guitars, keyboards) back in 2006, and until 2010 he wrote the material and recorded demo versions of them. With various friends and acquaintances assisting as needed. But in the beginning of 2010 Vincent Derosa (drums, percussion, vocals) got involved in this venture, and soon after Preston Tamkin (keyboards, vocals) and Fred Holtzclaw (bass) joined up as well. In the summer of 2011 the quartet started performing live, and in the fall they hit the studio to record their debut album Subside, which was self-released just before Christmas in December 2011.
