The Phlod-Nar is a solo-project from Randolf Smeets. Born in The Netherlands in 1978. In his teens The Phlod-Nar started making his own music, experimenting in noise and improvisation, mainly because of his interest in the music of John Zorn and Frank Zappa. In later years his influences got far more wider. He not only makes music electronically but also composes pieces for, mainly piano, and plays several instruments (piano, guitar, clarinet, percussion). Since then the music he's made ranges from techno to classical, from improvisation to ambient, from jazz to noise,from electronica to acoustic, from film music to composed music, and so on.
