There is more than one artist with this name:
1) Wannes Salomé, a singer-songwriter from Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
2) Bernie Borkent, a sound engineer and producer from Utrecht, the Netherlands.
3) Tristan W. Vøndershred, a blues rock musician from Bruges, Belgium.
1) Autumn Child is Wannes Salomé, a singer-songwriter and producer from Rotterdam, the Netherlands. In a poetic way he utilises major themes in surprising compositions. The songs have the intimacy of Sufjan Stevens and the dynamics of Grizzly Bear.
In february 2015 he stayed at an old monastery with his band to record his first album. The mysterious, open atmosphere of the music was amplified by the beautiful and peaceful Roepaen Monastery in Ottersum. Wordless Poem for Fiona was released on May 26, 2016.
2) Autumn Child is a solo project by Bernie Borkent, a sound engineer and producer at Catharijne Studio in Utrecht, the Netherlands. He released album Scores from Mindmovies on November 6, 2014, which is selected from almost 25 years of previously unreleased material.
3) Autumn Child is a solo musical baby. It is reminiscent of many genres and artists, but written, played and recorded, all by Tristan W. Vøndershred. Having worked with many local artists and bands, he felt this was the next logical step to make.
"I'm not down with full-blown biographies. I want this musical kind of "thing" because I like making music and entertaining people, I like so many good music, but I need the space and time to do this myself. I don't want anybody to mend with some of the music I make. Whether I go far with this, or on the contrary just have one fan, I won't push it. To me, music in some ways is understanding, so in this case people can't misunderstand what I wanna bring across. Being in bands is something I always will have, and most important: be a priority, but this is for myself, for all those who care to listen and be inspired by my playing or singing. It's really a modest thing, I hope I won't get misunderstood."
"Bluesy psychedelic guitars, intuitive and rock and roll basslines, boogie drums,... those are my main ingredients. I'm so indecisive, I like Black Sabbath, I like the Stooges, I love Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, fuck... But this is kind of an expressive band rather than paying tribute to all that I love. All I need is a guitar, a slide, a harmonica, a bass, some effects, and my recording shit." Read more on Last.fm.
