1) The Shame, a 1967, English band with, pre-King Crimson, Greg Lake on guitar.

2) The Shame are from Basildon, Essex UK. They have recently reformed with a brand new line up. Currently in the studio writing new songs. They will be back playing live very soon. A new single will be out sometime beginning of 2011.

3) There is also another band called The Shame, active in the late 90s (1998-1999), that made dark, synthy pop music in the vein of Joy Division, The Cure or Echo & The Bunnymen. Members of that The Shame have moved on to make music solo and as part of other bands: Robert Serlinn, Sir David, DJ Denise Chalela, Rollervito, mUte, Rondamón, Bejín De Kabuto, OSDO. A compilation of their recorded output called "g8d" is purported to exist.

4) The Shame was an early Swedish punk band. They were formed in southern Stockholm in 1977 and split up in 1978. The members continues in bands such as B-Films, Glory Bells Band and Electric Boys.

5) The Shame formed in 2011 as an Oi! punk band based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
