Decree: a proclamation made by the King…

The members of Dekree have made proclaiming the words of the King their sincere ambition. Their lyrics ring of the relevant truth, that we need Christ Jesus and more than that, that He is available. The simplicity of that hope is found in every note of every song that they play. It is prophesied on the drum. It is wailed out on guitars. It sizzles along bass lines and it is spun out in their vocals in a symphony of rock-out-loud praise to the delight of their avid fans.

Formed in Hallsville, TX, with lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist, Chris Rice and drummer, Trey Coody jamming in the living room, they quickly became a three man group with the addition of Cody Johnson playing bass. However, it only took a matter of months for them to realize that they needed a lead guitarist and with that, Jacob Coody became the finalizing strength of Dekree. Having just finished recording at Tonal Recording studio in Haslet, Texas, they and their fans anxiously await their official EP release in June.

Their sound, which hints of a range of influences from Tool and Underoath, to Breaking Benjamin and Audioslave is all their own and yet, Dekree is not just a band with a few talented musicians. They are four young men joined by one purpose. It is their fierce desire to be a war cry for this generation, to see them rise up and take a stand for Christ and show after show, their eager audiences join in with their resonant proclamation.
