Project Parallel consists of two. The project began in Tucson, Arizona when Carolina Smogorzewski, a Polish architect/musician collided with Silas Hite, a notorious composer. Their first full-lenght album Android Parlour Tricks was written on opposite coasts while Caroline was living in Boston and Silas in Los Angeles. The process invloved e-mailing musical ideas back and forth, adding and substracting from each other's work. Once the ideas were solidified, Caroline moved to Los Angeles to finish the album.

Android Parlour Tricks was recorded at Mutato Muzika, Mark Motherbaugh's (Devo) studio where Silas is a resident composer. In the spring of 2006 Project Parallel was courted and wooed by the reputable yet scandalous Mustachio Records.

Project Parallel creates hand-made modern music.

Their favored instruments are cello, voila, accordion, upright and electric bass, harmophone, piano, machines, ratchets, congas, springs, coils, rebar, trap kit, timbales, synths, celesta, glockenspiel, marimba, timbani and many more.

The music is about miscomunication in the era of mass communication. Organic movements in contrived spaces. The awkward.
