MGX (The Martin Gerke eXperiment), was (is?) a highly influential band from the early 21st century. With a revolutionary guitar-bass meshing, they set the stage for all future indie rock outfits. Let's just say, they will be tough shoes to fill.

MGX was formed in early 2001 after the tragic death of a close friend of founding members Korey Kunze and Todd Moore. Both had fallen into a deep depression and had nearly given up all hope, until they happened to fall into what many consider the most important thing to ever happen to music.

Through Todd's mastery of the stringed instruments and Korey's distinct vocal styling, the two found themselves at the helm of the universe's most powerful musical starship. They continued to push the music into uncharted territory.

MGX are now revered as pioneers of emotional music and are well-respected by all who have ever had the pleasure and honor to listen to their masterpieces. Tracks like "My Favorite Things" (a very Rare song) showcase Todd's creative abilities to their fullest extent, with him doing all instrumentation AND vocals, creating the revolutionary genre known as "lo-fi stand-up comedy."


Rumours of regroup have been floating around since late summer of 2006. With five years of practice and separate songwriting, the duo may do things in the future that defy all reason and logic, and, perhaps, could result in death upon listening. Read more on Last.fm.
