Cymek started out in 2005/2006 under a different name, but due to the 'band' splitting up a few times the name was changed into the current one. Wilbur Habekotté continues under the name Cymek, which originates from a character of Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson's 'Legends of Dune' trilogy of novels.

In 2008 Cymek's first promo download was released. Within a very short period of time the promo was being played at some locations throughout Argentina.

In 2009, Wilbur Habekotté and new members found time to work on their first full length EP entitled "Opinions Of The Misinformed". This EP will mark new territory for the band, which a more matured sound and style, Hoping to gain more support and success & taking them to the top of the genre. Read more on Last.fm.
